EVENTS

25–27 March 2014 at the Research Institute of Physics (St. Petersburg State University, Physical faculty) seminar «Polariton devices: scientific research and perspectives» take place. This seminar was organized by St. Petersburg State University (Spin Optics Laboratory) in conjunction with the British Council in Russia.

The Seminar was attended by 20 scientists from renowned universities and institutes of England (University of Southampton, Cardiff University, University of Sheffield, Imperial College, London, University of St. Andrews) and 20 representatives of Russia (FTI. Joffe, St. Petersburg State University, St. Vladimir Institute, Skolkovo).

The head of the Laboratory Alexey V. Kavokin reported on the main results of the laboratory over the past first half of 2013. They are presented in «Кратком отчете о работе лаборатории Оптики спина им. И. Н. Уральцева в период январь – июль 2013 года» (in Russian).

A number of laboratory staff made ​​brief scientific reports.

Discussion of works on noise spectoscopy (M. M. Glazov) and on excitons in parabolic well (A. Trifonov) was also held.

The ceremony of delivery of the Academic mantel and Diploma of the Honorary Professor to Bernard Gil

Prof. Bernard Gil has been elected a Honoris Causa Professor
of the Physics Faculty of Saint-Petersburg State University.

The ceremony of delivery of the Academic Mantel and Diploma of the Honorary professor will take place at the Blue Hall of the Physics Faculty of the University (1, Ulianovskaya str., Peterhof, Saint-Petersburg)

on Friday, 26th of October 2012 at 15.10.

A short International Scientific meeting on Semiconductor Physics will precede the ceremony. The meeting will start on the 26th at 10.00 a.m. and will consist of 8 presentations with welcoming words by Alexey Kavokin. The list of the speakers at the meeting:
